The focus areas of iCEM have been conceptualized keeping in mind emerging industry and overall needs in Mining sector. Initially the emphasise will be given to the sectors such as Automation, Health and Safety, Mine Planning and Mining Efficiency and gradually other focus areas will also be considered for emerging global best practices and tailoring them for the National and International environment. Presently academic partners of iCEM includes University of Wollongong (UOW) Australia, TAFE Illawara Australia, IIT Kharagpur and Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) Gandhinagar.
